What’s the longest period of time youve waited for someone? Twenty minutes? An hour?
I start to get cranky around the five-minute mark, so imagine how grumpy I am after waiting four hours on a Sunday afternoon for the subject of today’s photoshoot to arrive. You know how a watched pot never boils? Well, let me assure you, a watched doorway never brings a Rihanna.
For much of the afternoon, I’ve been steadily receiving text messages letting me know that the singer won’t be long (“definitely within the hour”) until, finally, when the crew are weak with starvation, we’re startled into action by a flurry of voices. Striding at the front of the 10-strong pack is the surprisingly tall star, immaculately groomed in a simple white shift dress and giant sunnies (even though it’s 7pm). She takes the time to greet each of us with, “Hi, I’m Rihanna.”
Considering she’s only in town for a 72-hour promo tour, she has one hell of an entourage. There’s the manager, two assistants (one of whom heads for the stereo to blast the boss lady’s new album, Rated R, kicking off with the chart-topping single Rude Boy), the hair and make-up artists, the wardrobe keeper, the best friend and two drivers. They busy themselves taking over the entire studio space, while Rihanna squeaks with excitement at the designer pieces she’ll be wearing.

Not every model and photographer in the fashion industry is against Terry Richardson, whom many have recently accused of sexual misconduct on shoots. Model turned New Moon actress Noot Seear worked with Terry, clothed, on a campaign, and was quick to stand up for him. "Terry's a really cool guy. It's not like he pressures you into doing anything you're not comfortable with," she told us at a silent auction in Milk Studios benefiting Rose Charities to aid Haiti earthquake victims. Photographer John Mark Sorum also stood in Richardson's corner. "Terry is an amazing photographer. All that goes on while shooting is participatory play," he said.
Seear agrees with those who believe the fashion-photography world would be a little dull without Richardson's contribution. "There's something very beautiful, very raw about it and I'm glad that there is a photographer out there that does work like that," said Seear, founder of Rose Charities USA. Richardson donated an original print to last night's auction.

Girls Aloud Exclusive NADINE COYLE'S had to put up with a lot of stick this week with rumours that she doesn't get on with CHERYL COLE and the rest of Girls Aloud.
So the Irish singer gave me a bell from her home in Los Angeles to set the record straight on their so-called feud.
First up she tackled whispers over her relationship with Cheryl. Close friends of the love-split star insist Nadine - working on her debut solo album - DIDN'T contact Cheryl when she fled to LA after hubby ASHLEY'S cheating emerged.
But Nadine told me: "I sent Cheryl an email and I CALLED her. I was like: 'Hi.' And she said: 'I'm in LA'. I was working on the album and dashing around. She was working and doing her thing.

Shia Labeouf dons a “Frank the Robot” t-shirt after being driven home from Starbucks by a friend on Friday afternoon (March 19) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
On Sunday, the 23-year-old actor is supposed to participate in the L.A. Marathon on behalf of the nonprofit U.S.VETS, which helps homeless veterans become independent and productive by assessing needs and providing shelter, job skills training, development and placement.
FYI: Shia’s dad, Jeffrey, fought in Vietnam and his paternal grandfather was a Green Beret.

The 34-year-old soccer star took part in a sketch where Smithy (played by James) coached the best and brightest in English athletes! At 2:07 in the video, Smithy and Becks share special moments and cut flowers, fix their nails and spend quality time together in the bathtub.
Sport Relief, which benefits disadvantaged people throughout the world, raised £29,323,818 last night (over $44 million US) after airing a star-studded broadcast and urging Brits to help people around the world.

Spending the day with his kids, Ryan Phillipe was spotted at the local Ralph's supermarket with Ava and Deacon on Saturday (March 20).
With a cartful of goodies, the gang finished up their shopping and headed out to their vehicle where the “Stop-Loss” actor unloaded the bags in front of pursuing paparazzi.
The sighting comes shortly after it was revealed that Mr Phillippe will be starring in a new movie called "The Big Valley".
Talking to MTV News, "I think I'm doing a Western in May, with Susan Sarandon, Billy Bob Thornton, Richard Dreyfuss [and] Bruce Dern. It's called 'The Big Valley,' which was a [television] series in the '60s, and so it's sort of based on that."
Of the director, Daniel Adams, Phillippe said, "He's a young guy and this is his first film, so you wouldn't know him yet."

Paul Bettany and Rufus Sewell to co-star in new Angelina Jolie flick
British actors Paul Bettany and Rufus Sewell are the latest stars to sign up for Angelina Jolie's new movie The Tourist, according to reports.
The romantic thriller is currently being filmed in Venice, Italy, where Jolie, 34, and co-star Johnny Depp, 46, have regularly been spotted shooting scenes for the flick.
The movie sees Jolie take on the role of an Interpol officer, who crosses paths with Depp, who plays an American tourist visiting Italy to get over a broken heart, and leads him into a dangerous world of mystery and intrigue.
According to UK magazine Empire, it is not yet known what roles Bettany or Sewell will have in the flick, which is being directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Ski f. Mos Def and Whosane - Taxi
After radio rips and snippets of this track hit the net over the past few months, the proper CD quality version of "Taxi." This cut had everyone going crazy mostly thanks to Ski's killer moody beat and the way Mos Def spit over it. But Whosane does an equally nice job on here, too, which makes for even more of a reason to be excited for Ski's 24 Hour Karate School. The mixtape/album has been pushed back multiple times, but it might finally drop later this month.

Anyone have a memorable evening last night? Between me (haven't seen the movies) and the four other staff members (havn't read any of the books), the 25 people that showed up to hang out for two hours pretty much ran our "party" by themselves, and everyone walked away with a stack of swag. But compared to other midnight events, this one was a big snooze that probably wasn't worth the five-person payroll that got funneled into it. There weren't even any crazy drunken gatecrashers!
